Requesting New Proofs

Requesting a revised proof

Brushstroke variations

When we contact you by e-mail letting you know that there is a painting proof ready to review, that e-mail notice will contain simple instructions for viewing your proof as well as a way to request a proof revision. Your photo to art project should be exactly the way YOU want it, so feel free to ask for your picture to painting to be less realistic or more realistic than the first proof you see. As shown in the photo to art examples above, there are varying degrees of brushstroke realism possible for each picture to painting we do.

But showing these three examples is a bit misleading because there is actually a whole continuum from very loose to extremely tight, (just so slightly painted that it is almost photo realistic, but having just enough painting technique to knock the extreme sharpness off to have a slight 'softness' about it).

There may also be things that you want removed, wrinkles lessened (clothing OR faces!), backgrounds cleaned up. These are the type of changes that help change your photo to art that is more controlled and thoughtful. Individual preferences should be met in each picture to painting we undertake. Even in areas like contrast and color saturation, as shown below. Here again, there is a continuum of possibilities, so ask us to try something you think you might like even if you aren't sure. Don't hesitate to ask to see anything that will make your picture to painting more perfect in your eyes. We know that every photo to art purchaser is as unique as their images. In some cases, the details may be so subtle that our normal posting method with small enlargements of various area may still not be enough to grasp the revisions. If that is the case, you may request (or we may suggest) that we attach the proofs directly to an email so you may view it even larger on your screen.

This online proofing system gives you, the picture to painting buyer, as well as us, the ones creating the artwork, the assurance of a positive photo to art outcome. It also makes the creation of the artwork a truly collaborative effort...so much so that we feel you have every right to sign the painting when you get it, and that is why we don't sign them. We also have so much faith in the system that it inspired us to offer our picture to painting money-back guarantee, one of the only companies to do so. Simply stated, if you are unhappy with your photo to art canvas for any reason, just return it within 20 days for a full refund. We want everyone to be pleased with the picture to painting process from start to finish.

There is also currently no limit to the number of proofs that you can request. Most painting purchasers buy our first proof, but many do request a revised proof. The average number of revised painting proofs requested is 1 or 2. There have only been a couple of times that I was about ready to suggest that we may not be able to reach the point of total satisfaction by the customer (after a dozen or more!) but in those cases they finally were satisfied and followed through with their purchases. We plan to keep this policy unless it is abused because as stated above, it is really in everyone's best interest.

It was this process that arose from our initial mission: "We strive to make sure Your Photo to Painting provides the best and most-personalized service you've ever experienced online. We are passionate about customer service and keeping our prices fair. I want everyone who entrusts us with creating paintings from their photos to know that we are dedicated to creating family heirlooms. If you don't LOVE your painting, you'll get a full refund. It's as simple as that. We want to become your trusted source for original art." Glenn Ivie - OwnerContrast and saturation examples
